The Flowtones

John Rogers

Drums

Drummer John (husband of Candace [Candy] Webb Rogers) has been a fixture on the NW music scene for over 50 years, as a record store owner, FM radio DJ, recording studio owner, and musician who played with blues titans, Isaac Scott and Albert Collins, new wavers Student Nurse, Seattle funk-rockers Red Dress, funk/soul favorites Planet Fly… and many more.

Steve Maxwell

Saxophone

My father played saxophone and clarinet in dance bands professionally as a teenager. I started playing his clarinet in the school band and have been playing saxophone mostly for fun, off and on ever since. The opportunity to play in the Flowtones with these very talented and fun musicians is definitely a golden moment for this old bird.

Mildred Brown

Vocals

A retired RN, transplanted from the East Coast, now working part time for a Home Care agency.

I have been singing all my life from choirs, to choruses to solo performances all for the love of music.

Chris Hunter

Guitar & Vocals

I started playing guitar at age 14 and am quite annoyed that I am not better at it than I am, but would still rather be doing it than anything else.

Matt Lee

Bass Guitar & Vocals

Has been a musician since 1973, was born and raised in Seattle.  Quite accomplished on piano, guitar, and vocals as well as bass.

Rick Etsell

Keyboards

From an early age, Rick had classical organ lessons and played in churches and chamber music groups before focusing more on family and careers as a marine design engineer and later a professional yacht captain. Keeping busy in retirement he began playing blues and rock with friends and family, and now loves playing with the consummate musicians in the fabulous Flowtones!
